Mike Simone (C’06), Chief People Officer, Commercial, Operations and Enterprise at Wayfair
Mike is the Chief People Officer, Commercial, Operations & Enterprise at Wayfair. In this role, Mike is responsible for the end-to-end people operations of the Commercial and Enterprise organizations. Prior to this role, Mike held a variety of roles in the Commercial organization, including leading the Global Channel Merchandising organization and the Large Appliances business. Before joining Wayfair, Mike worked at Bain & Company in a variety of industries, including retail, consumer packaged goods, and technology. Mike holds an M.B.A. from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University, and a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
INSIGHT FROM MIKE:
The most important thing in retail is to be customer obsessed. You have to win the customer. Returning shoppers gives you some brand halo but if it’s not a great experience when they come back, they won’t shop again. There are too many choices.
