GOODY'S FAMILY CLOTHING

Goody's Family Clothing is a department store that offers style and classic brands for great value.  With 383 stores across the South and Midwest, the company has grown extensively from its humble beginnings in Athens, Tennessee.  It was founded in 1953 as a small family business offering close-out, irregular, and previous-year merchandise for low prices, but changed its focus in the 1970s to current, first quality, this-season merchandise and currently offers brands like Levi's, Aerosole, and Dockers alongside designs from celebrity Ashley Judd's collection.  While the company went public in 1991, it was taken private again by GMM Capital and Prentice Capital Management in January 2006 and remains so.
